Manchester City host Newcastle United in the FA Cup quarter-finals on Saturday, and the defending champions expect a tough challenge despite the gap between the sides in the Premier League standings.
As usual, City are in the thick of the title race while the Magpies are firmly midtable despite their increased expenditure in recent years.
Yet Pep Guardiola isn't looking past Newcastle, especially since the FA Cup now represents their last chance at a trophy this season.
“This season and previous ones since [manager] Eddie Howe was there and the people from Saudi Arabia took over, it’s always been tight games and we don’t expect anything different,” the City boss said .
“We have an incredible chance at home with our people. We need in home games the support of our fans like we had against United, I don’t remember that environment for a long time.
“[Saturday] isn’t an exception. We need it to reach the semi-final at Wembley again.”
