Are Liverpool turning the corner?

The Reds ran out 2-0 winners over Merseyside rivals Everton on Monday, their first Premier League win in 2023. It's been a rough campaign for Jurgen Klopp's men, as they sit ninth in the standings and nearly 20 points back from leaders Manchester City. 

But perhaps Monday's victory is a sign of things to come.

Liverpool will find out Saturday as they visit Newcastle United, who enter the weekend in fourth place and very much in contention for a Champions League berth. The Magpies have have plodded along in recent weeks with four draws across their last five league fixtures, but their league-best defence will prove a tough nut to crack for the visitors.
