British NFL players predict England and Scotland's World Cup fate
The 2026 FIFA World Cup is well underway, and British NFL players have been getting into the spirit, with stars across the league weighing in on how they think England and Scotland will fare.
In true patriotic fashion, and with no shortage of confidence whatsoever, all but two believe their countrymen are set to dominate.
Sceptics will roll their eyes, but England just put four past Croatia in a second-half display that put the rest of the tournament field on notice.
Scotland is a harder sell, but if Steve Clarke's side can upset the odds against Morocco on Friday, these predictions may not be as far-fetched as they first seemed.
Here's what the British contingent of NFL players had to say about England and Scotland's fortunes.
Seydou Traore, TE - Miami Dolphins
Tight end Seydou Traore, born in France but raised in London, became the first graduate of the UK-based NFL Academy to be drafted when the Miami Dolphins selected him in the fifth round of the 2026 NFL Draft.
Draped in England gear, Traore sounded confident of England's chances.
David Ojabo, edge rusher - Miami Dolphins
Traore's teammate in Miami, David Ojabo, spent 10 years living in Aberdeen earlier in life.
The 26-year-old confidently predicted the Tartan Army are poised for a clean sweep of Group C, with wins over Haiti, Morocco and Brazil.
We now know he correctly predicted the correct result of the Haiti game, even if the scoreline wasn't quite right.
Osi Umenyiora, former New York Giants edge rusher
Two-time Super Bowl winner Osi Umenyiora, born in London, didn't pull any punches in his response to being asked how far England will go in the World Cup.
"They will win," he said, adding. "As long as the Brits don't start with the 'it's coming home' stuff. I'm superstitious. And it's very annoying."
Eluemunor, Clayton, Watson, and Crawford
