Lionel Messi faces Paris Saint-Germain for the first time since leaving the French giants two years ago, with PSG taking on Inter Miami in Sunday's first Round of 16 match.

Messi left the French giants two years ago and joined the MLS side, where he now stars alongside Sergio Busquets, Jordi Alba and Luis Suarez in Florida.
Sunday's match pits the longtime teammates against their former manager, Luis Enrique, who guided PSG to their first UEFA Champions League title last month and looks to add the FIFA Club World Cup to the Parisians' trophy case.
Enrique will come up against another of his former players, Javier Mascherano, who is now Miami's head coach and looking to make history with the American team.
Mascherano concedes that Enrique is "one of the greatest coaches" he's played under and spoke of a "special relationship" with the Spaniard and his family, but he will still be looking to best his former mentor in Atlanta.
“Now that we are facing likely the best team in Europe — the Champions League champion — we will try to maintain the same commitment and unity and play a great match,” Mascherano said.
“If there is something this sport has proven is that anything can happen in any match. And who’s to say that Sunday will (not) be our day. Sometimes, things happen.”
