Serie A team of the week - Malen's the man as Inter find late hero

Inter continued to make a statement at the top of Serie A with a win in the Derby d'Italia, while Roma's European chances have been fuelled by their clever business in the winter transfer market. 

But which players have made the team of the week for Matchday 25?   Ash Rose casts his eye over this weekend's heroes.

Justin Bijlow (Genoa) 

A clean sheet away at Cremonese for the Genoa keeper, where he was instrumental in earning the point. 

The Dutchman made eight saves across the goalless draw, the most by any goalie on Matchday 25. 

Zachary Athekame (Milan)

Filled in for the injured Alexis Saelaemakers and continues to shine when given his minutes by Milan. 

The wing-back created two big chances and set up the opener for Ruben Loftus-Cheek in their win over Pisa on Friday. 

Federico Baschirotto (Cremonese)

Cremonese kept Genoa at bay in the weekend's goalless stalemate, with Federico Baschirotto the most impressive of the club's backline. 

Although they still haven't found the win, the shutout will give the skipper and his side just the pick-up they need from their recent slide down the league. 

Leonardo Spinazzola (Napoli) 

One of Napoli's most reliable names, and put in another credible shift as the champions kept up their unbeaten home record against Roma. 

Spinazzola got his side back in the game with Napoli's equalising goal. 

Federico Dimarco (Inter)

A permanent fixture in our team of the week and it was another standout performance from arguably the league's most highly consistent name. 

Another assist for the wing back - that's 13 for the season - and in the first half, recorded a 90% accurate pass rate in the opposition half.

Piotr Zielinski (Inter) 

Scored Inter's late winner to see off Juventus in the Derby d'Italia, a goal which rounded off an all-round first-class performance for the midfielder. 

Across the game, he racked up a 96% pass completion rate, before unleashing his 90th-minute strike to give the Nerazzurri all three points. 

Ederson (Atalanta) 

A battling display in the middle for Atalanta, where he opened the scoring for Atalanta from the penalty spot in their 2-0 victory over Lazio. 

He also had a 95% pass completion rate and created three further chances for his side in the away win. 

Nicolo Fagioli (Fiorentina) 

Fiorentina's survival mission is back on thanks to an impressive away win at Como, where Fagioli was the star of the show. 

It was his goal who set the Viola on their way and his all-action display in the middle saw them see out the much-needed victory.

Donyell Malen (Roma) 

Another two goals for the Dutchman against Napoli, who is looking like the best signing of the January transfer window in Serie A. 

He already has five for the season and has his manager stating that Roma would be closer to a title race if the striker had been with them since the start of the campaign. 

Andrea Pinamonti (Sassuolo) 

Sassuolo came from behind away at Udinese and it was largely thanks to their main man in attack, Pinamonti. 

The striker set up the first goal for Lauriente and then netted the winner just before the hour mark to see his side take home all three points. 

Santiago Castro (Bologna) 

Bologna finally got back to winning ways, and it was Castro who struck the vital blow against Torino. 

The striker was a constant threat at the tip of the attack, not only scoring the winner, but also created three big chances for his side.
