All is quiet on the Mohamed Salah front at Liverpool, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Salah has just finished representing Egypt at the Africa Cup of Nations, where the Pharaohs finished fourth, and now the 33-year-old is expected to return to Liverpool as the club's quest for a top-four finish continues.

Earlier this season, Salah and Liverpool manager Arne Slot had a public falling out that led to the player's temporary omission from the lineup in early December. However, Slot included Salah in the Reds' 2-0 win over Brighton on Dec. 13, which was the final game before the Egyptian captain's international duties, and Romano believes the player will be returning to a welcoming environment at Anfield.

"There will be conversations between Mo Salah, his agent [and] Liverpool to try to understand the situation," the football journalist said on DAZN Transfer with Fabrizio Romano. "I have to tell you at the moment it's gone very quiet, so the situation is not tense anymore after what happened in December."

Romano explained that the final days before Salah departed for AFCON were positive, and Liverpool will be happy to bring their superstar back into the fold.

Should Salah continue to pursue transfer opportunities elsewhere, Romano said the club would be open to working with him.

"For Liverpool, [the situation] remains the same," he said. "Liverpool say, 'We want Mo Salah to stay. We are not planning for Mo Salah to go.' So if he wants to go, [he'll need to] bring a proposal to the table.

"But at the moment, it's very quiet."
