Most expected Modric to be a bit-part player on his arrival in Milan, given he turned 40 last month, but the Croatian has been anything but bit-part in Milan's impressive start to the season.
He's started every one of the Rossoneri's matches so far, and his influence has grown game by game. He became the oldest player to make a debut in Serie A, when he made his Milan bow, but has gone on to show age really is just a number.
His maiden goal for the club came in the 1-0 win over Bologna and it's part of a start that has seen Milan beat champions Napoli and look like real title contenders with Modric pulling strings in midfield.

Bologna have made a steady start to the campaign, winning three of their six matches so far, with Orsolini the orchestrator.
The Italian forward has continued his brilliant form from last season in 2025-26 with 4 goals in the first six matches for Vincenzo Italiano's side.
Those goals have come in all three of their victories, including the winner against Como and the last-minute penalty that secured victory over Genoa.

Leading the way at the top of the goal-scoring charts so far this season is Pulisic, who has been Milan's main attacking threat in the opening months of the season.
The American has netted four times so far, including a the winner in the 2-1 victory over champions Napoli and a brace as Milan beat Udinese 3-0.
There have been two assists too, proving how crucial the former Chelsea man has been in the Rossoneri's early title challenge.

Como know they have a star in the making in Nico Paz, and the 21-year-old has been one of the most eye-catching players in Serie A so far this season.
The clever Argentine midfielder kicked off the season by scoring a free-kick and laying on an assist in a 2-0 win over Lazio and since then has racked up six goal involvements in total, while also being the player with the most shots in goal in the league.
Those involvements have helped his side lose only one game this season, and he and Como will surely kick on once the league resumes.

For all the talk of Kevin De Bruyne's arrival and the continued importance of Scott McTominay in Napoli's midfield, it's been Anguissa who's been the champions' star performer so far.
The powerful Cameroonian has been involved in all six games for Antonio Conte's side, with his last-minute winner against Cagliari on Matchday 2 already looking like a vital moment in the season.
He also notched in the turnaround win over Genoa, but it's the balance he's offered in the Napoli engine room that has made him stand out among the rest of the big midfield names.

Roma have emerged as a possible title contender in the first half a dozen games, with only one defeat so far this season.
Key to their success so far has been the for performances of forward Mathias Soule, who's been their attacking architect so far this season.
The Argentine has scored three times in six outings - including the winner against Pisa in the first away trip of the season - helping his side to 15 points, level at the top with the reigning champions.
