The Champions League league phase culminates next week in the final matchday of the round, with teams looking to make it into March's knockout stage.
Only the top eight qualify automatically for the last 16, with places 9-24th entering the play-offs and two extra games to book their place in the next round.
Next Wednesday will be the final chance for teams to seal their fate, so which Italian teams have already qualified for the knockouts and what do the others have to do to secure their place?

Atalanta are the highest placed Italian team heading into the final round, but it's far from a compliment as none of the Serie A sides are in the automatic places.
It looked as though Raffaele Palladino's men would be the best bet before Matchday 7, but a 3-2 home defeat to Athletic Club means there's work to do.
They are one of a cluster of teams on 13 points ahead of the final game, so the only thing they can do is win their match at Union Saint-Gilloise and hope it's enough to avoid a play-off.
Knockout status:13th, need a win but likely to be in the play-offs.

The Nerazzurri may be having it all their own way in Serie A, but they've had a major Champions League wobble in the second half of the league phase.
It's now three defeats in a row for Cristian Chivu's men following the home defeat to Arsenal, which has seen them fall out of the top eight places.
Now, last year's runners-up must get a win in Germany on Matchday 8 against Borussia Dortmund to have any chance of securing automatic qualification for the knockouts.

A much improved second half of the league phase for Juve, who now sit in a small Serie A cluster in the middle of the table.
Their latest win, a 2-0 victory over Benfica, is unlikely to be enough to get them an automatic berth, with too many teams above them on better goal difference.
They finish with an away trip to Monaco, which, given the French side's performance against Real Madrid, you'd back Juve to win and continue their winning momentum into the play-offs.
Knockout status: 15th, a play-off place booked and is probably the best they can achieve.

It's been a pretty disappointing Champions League run for Napoli, who have once again failed to transfer a domestic success into being a European force.
Antonio Conte's men have suffered some key injuries to big players in 2025-26, but even so, they've only managed to win two of their seven games so far and now have no chance of making the top eight.
Their 6-2 thrashing at the hands of PSV was a low point, but they've also failed to defeat Benfica and Copenhagen, leaving them clinging onto a play-off place as they host Chelsea in the final round.
Knockout status: 25th, need a win to have a shot at a play-off place.
