The Serie A title race looks like it will be as tight as ever as we head into the October international break.
The 2025-26 season has already seen some of the title challengers make their mark, with Milan already inflicting Napoli with their first defeat of the campaign, while Juventus were victorious in the first derby d'Italia of the season with a dramatic win over Inter.
It sets the scene for an exciting title race, but which one of Italy's giants has won the most Scudetto titles?
The most successful team in Italian football is The Old Lady, whose total is a full sixteen more than any other side.
Juve won their first championship in 1905 and since the 1950s have been champions in every decade. Their most dominating spell came in the 2010s, where they won NINE titles in a row from 2012-2020.
The black and blue side of Milan have been champions more times than their city rivals, but still trail Juve by quite a number.
Inter first tasted title glory in 1910 and enjoyed the most successful stint in the 2000s when they won the championship four times in a row. They last lifted the trophy in 2024.
The Rossoneri have reigned 19 times since first winning the title in 1901, but miss out on Milan bragging rights by one triumph.
Milan were at their most dominating in the 90s, winning five championships during the decade and were last champions in 2022. They do, however, hold the record for most European Cups with seven.
An unlikely name is behind Italy's big three, but Genoa are considered Italy's first-ever champions, having won the inaugural championship in 1898.
They went on to win the league eight more times over the next two decades, with the last triumph coming in 1924.

Torino first triumphed in 1928, but their most successful period came in the 1940s, when they were champions on four occasions.
Their last championship came in 1976.
The 1930s saw Bologna come to the party, when they won three Serie A titles and became the league's dominant force.
Their first came in 1925, while they were last champions forty years later.
Here's one you may not have heard of, Pro Vercelli, who currently play their football in Serie C.
However, the club won seven Italian Football Championships from 1908 to 1922 and were one of the biggest names of that era.
Diego Maradona inspired Napoli to their first-ever Serie A title in 1987 and repeated the feat three years later, making him an icon in Naples.
They had to wait 23 years for another title, triumphing in 2023 and then again last season.
