NHL Games To Watch For The Week Of December 8

Tampa Bay Lightning @ Toronto Maple Leafs: Monday, December 8/Tuesday, December 9 (7:30 pm ET/12:30 am GMT/2:30 am CEST)

This is the "Prime Time Monday Night Hockey" game up in Toronto. After a seven-game winning streak, the Lightning (16-10-2) have now lost their last three games. And starting tonight, they embark on a four-game road trip. Meanwhile, the Maple Leafs (13-11-4)  are unbeaten in their last four games (3-0-1).

Something has to give in a battle of division rivals. 

Florida Panthers @ Colorado Avalanche: Thursday, December 11/Friday, December 12 (9:30 p.m. ET/2:30 am GMT/4:30 CEST)

The reigning two-time defending Stanley Cup champions (Panthers) are against right now the best team in the NHL (Avalanche). 

After their second regulation loss of the season last week, the Avalanche (21-2-6) have reeled off back-to-back wins to get everything back on track. On the other hand, the Panthers (14-12-2) have struggled to find their footing as they have been ravaged by injuries. 

Detroit Red Wings @ Chicago Blackhawks: Saturday, December 13/Sunday, December 14 (8:00 pm ET/1:00 am GMT/3:00 am CEST

Two Original Six teams are squaring off in what has been one of the most storied rivalries in NHL history. The teams have met 837 times, with the Red Wings holding a 415-321-84-17 advantage. They last played each other on Nov. 9 when the Blackhawks won 5-1 on a goal and two assists from Connor Bedard.
