Marc Diakiese acknowledges he had "other options" on the table before he signed with the Professional Fighters League, but believes the promotion was the best for him.
The Englishman will make his debut in the quarter-final stage of a revamped calendar in the 2025 PFL Lightweight Tournament, featuring in the last eight of the competition.
Diakiese had previously expected to re-sign with his long-term home at the UFC before the move to the rival promotion came about midway through last year.
Speaking exclusively to DAZN, the 31-year-old acknowledges that he has settled well with them, and believes they can offer a better future for him as a professional.
"I feel like I am part of the family already," he said. "It was very welcoming, the show ran smoothly. It made me happy realiseing I can have fun with it. There were other options.
"The way I felt as a fighter, I felt the PFL was there for my best interests. It was the right move for me, to go to the PFL. For me, it's been good. I'm getting media time.
"They're helping to promote me and put me out there. If you look at the other fighters who have come to the PFL, they give them opportunities that are not easy to get.
"I'm happy because I'll be getting the fights that I need, I'll be paid and I'll be fighting regularly. As a fighter, that's what I want.
"Most of these up-and-comers, they're being given a great opportunity where you can set your life up."
