The pair will run it back in 2024.

After the success of Oktagon UK, the MMA franchise is returning to Briton, this time in Newcastle on January 27.

There is already one rematch lined up for the event, between English featherweight Jake McHugh and Ireland’s Armand Herczeg.

They fought as part of the Oktagon Challenge, England v Ireland, with Herczeg winning via submission in 34 seconds.

McHugh trains out of Liverpool’s famous Next Generation gym, had been set on a rematch, and now it will go ahead in early 2024.

McHugh commented: “I don’t want to make excuses, but I accepted the OKTAGON Challenge opportunity on short notice, and I was suffering with a back injury.

“When I shot for the takedown in that fight, my back completely went and Armand ended up catching me in the guillotine, so fair play to him. But I want that one back, I know I am better than him.”

Armand reacted: “I choked him out in 34 seconds. If he wants it again, he can have it.”

Elsewhere on the card, former bantamweight champion Jonas Magard will meet former Cage Warriors champion, Jack Cartwright.
