Manchester United's fixture list is a bit more hectic than usual this week, as the Red Devils played a Premier League match on Saturday, they are now set to take on Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup on Wednesday, followed by a derby match against rivals Manchester City on March 3.

The club saw their four-match league win streak snapped on Saturday as they lost 2-1 to visiting Fulham in heartbreaking fashion. The Cottagers had taken the lead in the 65th minute but a Harry Maguire goal just before stoppage time appeared to secure the draw for the Red Devils.

However, Alex Owobi struck seven minutes into added time to claim all three points for Fulham and hand United their first league loss since Dec. 30.

With just three days between that loss and Wednesday's FA Cup tie, a report surfaced earlier this week that some United players asked for Sunday off. For former Chelsea and Scotland midfielder Craig Burley, the request was inappropriate.

"If they were asking for the Sunday off, they must have been forgetting that they had the Saturday off," Burley said on ESPN FC in reference to the Fulham loss.

Burley doesn't think that the request came from the younger players either.

"No chance," he said of the possibility that a younger member of the United squad requested the day off following a loss. "This is coming from seniority.

"And those senior players, most of them, have been the biggest whingers, have been the biggest disappointments, have been the poorest performers, and even within this little run United were on up until the Fulham game — which, I think most of us agreed, was papering over the issues that they were having, which certainly didn't happen at the weekend —  it's been the youngsters that have dragged them through it."
