Former England winger names two reasons for Marcus Rashford to go to Euro 2024

Former England winger names two reasons for Marcus Rashford to go to Euro 2024DAZN

Former Manchester United winger Lee Sharpe thinks that Marcus Rashford should still go to Euro 2024.

Rashford scored 30 goals in a season for the first time in his career in his first campaign under Erik ten Hag, but has markedly struggled to hit those same heights the second time around.

There have also been questions over his relationship with his club manager, but he has continued to feature under Gareth Southgate.

Speaking to Footy Accumulators , Sharpe suggested that the different environment and Rashford’s latent talent means he should go to Germany regardless.

He said: “Rashford, I think will go. Although he’s maybe had a disappointing season, I think again that for England he can sometimes look like a totally different player than what he does at club level.

“I think for his pace and power, you’ve got to take him - whether you start him or bring him on as an impact sub towards the end.”
