TNA is back.
After starting out as a wrestling business in 2002, TNA was America's second biggest wrestling platform for many years and attracted some huge names such as Hulk Hogan, Kurt Angle, and Sting.
Following a rebranding to Impact Wrestling, TNA is now ready to return and it begins this weekend and Hard to Kill.
TNA was born in 2002 one year after the demise of WCW, which was bought by WWE. The creation of Jeff Jarrett, TNA immediately began signing high-profile names as it looked to compete in the wrestling business.
Despite a slow start, TNA received funding from a number of investors and by combing veteran names with up-and-coming talent, they were able to enjoy moderate success.
Despite securing a number of high-profile talents such as Hulk Hogan and Jeff Hardy, TNA couldn't maintain the momentum they had built up and the time came for the company to change direction.
After being purchased by Anthem, TNA would become Impact Wrestling, a name chosen with TNA's weekly programme very much in mind. Returning to a smaller format after years of trying to be a major player, Impact would eventually settle into a routine that would allow the company to prosper whilst also delivering a solid product.
At the end of Bound for Glory 2023, a video played that confirmed the switch back to TNA. Impact had been performing very well and their international tours in 2023 were big successes. Relying on nostalgia to entice old fans as well as keeping their current audience, those in charge at TNA believe the time is right to revive the brand as they enter 2024 with huge purpose and it begins this weekend at Hard to Kill.
