Eddie Hearn doesn’t expect the much-speculated bout between Tyson Fury and Dillian Whyte to take place in March. The heavyweight rivals are currently in the midst of negotiations between their respective teams and the WBC as they aim to arrange a deal that will see Fury defend his world title against Whyte, the No. 1 contender.

Whyte has been waiting patiently for his maiden shot at a world champion but a deal to face Fury has not been straightforward due to number of issues, including the split percentage. Talks are still ongoing, but Hearn, Whyte’s promoter, doesn’t think a fight in March between the domestic rivals will happen.

"People keep talking about March dates, that's starting to look unrealistic for a fight of this magnitude,” said Hearn when speaking on the 5 Live Boxing Podcast. “Either March, April, early May potentially. This is the window for the fight. Depends what happens this week. There are so many conversations going on behind the scenes right now. Something could turn at any moment."
