Dillian Whyte makes confident prediction ahead of proposed Anthony Joshua rematchDAZN

Talks for a summer rematch between Anthony Joshua and Dillian Whyte have taken a positive turn after Whyte declared that he is willing to face the former two-time world champion.

This would be the third chapter in what has been a long-running rivalry with Whyte beating Joshua in the amateur ranks before being stopped by Joshua in a thrilling fight in 2015.

Now with both men at a crossroads in their heavyweight careers, the time seems right to put this feud to bed once and for all, and a third fight with Joshua is something Whyte claims he has been wanting since losing to the 33-year-old eight years ago.

"I've been up for fighting Joshua since the day I lost to him in 2015," Whyte told Sky Sports

"The score is 1-1 so far. He's won one. I beat him in the amateurs, he beat me in the pros so I want to get even.

"I would love nothing more than to have a chance to avenge my defeat.

"I'll just go to war. I want to go to war because I think that's a good way to fight him, pressure him, back him up and start getting him on the back foot as early as possible and I'm strong enough, I'm big enough to do that.

"I carry enough power obviously to back him up and to knock him out."
