Eddie Hearn has admitted to being ‘nervous’ ahead of Anthony Joshua’s comeback fight against Jermaine Franklin on April 1.

Joshua is eager to return to the top of the heavyweight division following two consecutive losses to Oleksandr Usyk and that process begins with Franklin in the opposite corner next month.

Hearn, Joshua’s promoter since he turned professional in 2013, has been at the side of his man throughout many great nights including multiple world title fights.

Heading into the Franklin fight, Hearn is well aware of the risks facing Joshua at this stage of his career and he’s spoken about his feelings as he heads into his next battle.

“I’m nervous because you look at Jermaine Franklin – he looks like a new man,” said Hearn when speaking to IFL TV.

“He’s done about 30lbs, he’s absolutely flying in camp and that’s what you get, they step up.

“ ‘AJ’ must win this fight, and I believe he wins this fight, but I don’t think it’s going to be easy. All the pressure is on him in this fight, and that is nerve-racking.”
