Jason Quigley sends message to critics ahead of Edgar Berlanga fightDAZN

Ireland's Jason Quigley seems to be in a positive state of mind ahead of his fight with Edgar Berlanga on Saturday night live on DAZN.

After being stopped in the second round by WBO world middleweight champion Demetrius Andrade two years ago, some fans are already dismissing Quigley's chances of getting the win and naming opponents Berlanga could face after the final bell in New York.

However, while comments such as these would have played on the mind of a young Quigley, it is something now which the 32-year-old claims does not affect him during fight week.

"Five years ago, that would have p—d me off," Quigley told The DAZN Boxing Show

"To me it’s actually working in my favour this time around.

"I don’t get caught up in what everybody’s saying, what everybody’s thinking, of course it’s a business, that’s the world that we live in.

"I’m in a great place in life, I’ve got a great foundation in my life. I know who I am, what I am and I don’t need all these approvals off everybody else.

"But this is my sport, this is my game, this is what I have trained my whole life for, and I want to put some respect on my name come Saturday night."
