Rolando Romero is not holding back when providing his assessment on imminent foe, Gervonta 'Tank' Davis. The loud-mouthed pair have traded insults for almost a year and they will finally have the chance to back up their boasts when they meet this weekend at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center with a version of the WBA lightweight title up for grabs.
The original date for this showdown was supposed to occur last December, but that bout was postponed as Romero had to face sexual assault accusations that were later dismissed. The Las Vegas fighter has regained his focus and he’s looking forward to proving himself on the biggest stage against ‘Tank.’
“I‘ve been calling him out since 2017,” said Romero when speaking to BoxingScene at a public workout.
