<p>Rolly Romero became world champion for the first time in his career when he beat Ismael Barroso for the WBA super lightweight belt.</p>

<p>The former lightweight moved past his defeat to Gervonta 'Tank' Davis to stop his opponent in controversial circumstances in the ninth round.</p>

<p>Many observers believed the two were going toe to toe when the referee called off the fight in Romero's favour.</p>

<p>After the fight, Romero said he would be keen on a Tank rematch, but suggested Ryan Garcia would be a bigger fight.</p>
