Eddie Hearn reveals option for Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez's next fight

Eddie Hearn reveals option for Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez's next fightDAZN

Eddie Hearn believes that Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez and Dmitry Bivol could meet again in 2023.

Hearn is preparing for Bivol’s fight with Gilberto ‘Zurdo’ Ramirez on Saturday night, shown in many regions live on DAZN.

Bivol is coming off the back of a huge victory against Canelo when he defended his WBO light heavyweight belt.

The beaten Mexican dropped back down for a trilogy rematch against Gennadiy Golovkin, securing his most one-sided victory of the three fights before undergoing surgery in preparation for a return to the ring for next year.

Bivol has cast an eye at a potential undisputed bout with fellow light heavyweight champion, Artur Beterbiev, but a rematch with Canelo is another option.

Speaking to the DAZN Boxing Show, Hearn acknowledged the decision that was in front of Bivol, should he get past Ramirez this weekend.

“Firstly, the buzz for this fighter is unbelievable,” he said from his hotel room. “This fight is one of the fights of the year. Before the Bivol-Canelo fight, this was a 50-50 fight. Bivol is the front runner, he’s become a pound-for-pound star.

“Really there are two options for Bivol if he beats Ramirez. One is a rematch against Canelo Alvarez. One is to look for the undisputed fight. But this is a dangerous fight. Very high level, a lot of drama.”
