Max Holloway returns to the Octagon in search of a bounce-back win from two consecutive defeats to featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski when he battles Calvin Kattar in the main event of the first UFC event of 2021 from Etihad Arena on Yas Island, Abu Dhabi.
Dana White's promotion returns to 'Fight Island', the site of many of their cards since the COVID-19 pandemic placed severe restrictions elsewhere.
Holloway, a former UFC Featherweight champion and proud owner of multiple Fight of the Night (3) and Performance of the Night (4) accolades, cannot wait to get straight back into the thick of things six months after his unsuccessful rematch against Australia's Volkanovski, who took the 145lb title from the Hawaii native.
“At the end of the day, we’re fighting five rounds,” Holloway told Yahoo! Sports. “There’s no less work. I’ve got to do the same amount of work, the same amount I’ve been doing for a title fight – the same rules, the same everything.”

Yas Island is a tourist destination and the events take place at the Flash Forum with no audience, due to current COVID-19 protocol.
