Arsenal and Manchester United battle to stalemate as Martin Odegaard debuts

Arsenal were held to a 0-0 draw by Manchester United in a watchable battle at the Emirates Stadium that also featured the Gunners debut of new signing Martin Odegaard.

The highly-rated young Norwegian arrived on loan from Real Madrid earlier in the week, but after just one full training session with his new team-mates was given just 10 minutes of total game time from the substitutes' bench by his new manager Mikel Arteta.

Alexandre Lacazette hit the bar with a free-kick for the hosts, while Marcus Rashford and Edinson Cavani had chances to win it for the Red Devils late on.

The goalless result means United are now unbeaten in 18 games away from home, while the Londoners continue their improved form since Christmas after a disastrous start to the 2020-21 campaign.ย

However both Arteta and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will feel that their team could have left with all three points.
