Teofimo Lopez didn't hold back on The DAZN Boxing Show when he was asked to give his thoughts on the undisputed lightweight champion Devin Haney.

Lopez became the number one fighter at 135lbs after beating Vasiliy Lomachenko to claim the WBA, WBO and IBF world titles two years ago, but his reign was short lived after being beaten by George Kambosos Jr last November.

Now Lopez is set to return to the ring against Pedro Campa in what will be his first fight at super lightweight this coming Saturday.

"He [Devin Haney] should move on, however they’ve signed a contract which has a rematch clause, that was an option, that was something he decided to do so he’s stuck with that at the moment," Lopez responded when asked about whether Haney should face Kambosos in a rematch. WBC champion Haney beat the Australian in June to become the undisputed champion at lightweight.

"With Devin Haney, kudos to him, you’re the next undisputed lightweight champion.

"Eventually after this fight he’s going to want to move up to 140 along with everybody else and we’ll meet at the end."

With both Lopez and Haney currently signed to Top Rank, a fight between the two should not be difficult, however, Lopez was quick to point out a flaw in Haney's character which could prove to be a problem if the two were in talks to face each other.

"I don’t see why not, unless he keeps overpricing himself which is something he always does," Lopez claimed.

"That kid tries to be 'pretty boy', but when it comes to the part of signing contracts, he wants to be Money Mayweather, I just don’t quite get it."
