Edgar Berlanga is aiming high and is targeting a fight with the undisputed ruler at 168lbs, Canelo Alvarez.
Currently a free agent after leaving Top Rank last year, Berlanga is currently one of boxing’s biggest free agents and a number of promotional organisations have already reached out to the heavy-handed New Yorker.
Berlanga, who has a huge Puerto Rican following, made his name in boxing by bulldozing his way through his first 16 opponents.

Winning all those fights in the first round, Berlanga quickly became an attraction, but he’s had to go the distance in his last four fights after moving up in class as he looks to become world champion.
Ready to push on and test himself against the best fighters at super-middleweight, Berlanga has made it clear that a fight between him and Canelo would be huge.
“Out of all the fighters out there, a fight with me makes the most sense,” said Berlanga to Boxing Scene when asked about Canelo.
“Why? Because I sell.”
