Sergio Mora thinks that a Vasiliy Lomachenko vs Teofimo Lopez rematch makes sense for the pair.
Lopez must first contest his IBF mandatory defence against George Kambosos this August, after a coronavirus infection for Lopez forced a delay.
Lomachenko’s next fight is against Masayoshi Nakatani, and that would open up the calendar for the pair of them to meet again. Mora told JABS as part of the DAZN Boxing Show that the Ukrainian deserves a shot to win back the four belts he lost towards the end of last year in a shock upset.

“Of course I like it,” he said of the rematch.
“Lomachenko deserves it. How do you disregard and dismiss a pound-for-pound talent like Lomachenko with one highly competitive loss against a hungry motivated Teofimo Lopez.
“Lomachenko in 2019 fought two times, Teofimo fought four times before fighting Teofimo Lopez, and it showed. He was big, he was strong. I think it was the activity.
“How do you go from the O2, fighting Luke Campbell, to fighting Teofimo in a boxing bubble - that made an impact. Not making excuses, Teofimo Lopez won this fight, but do I think it deserves a rematch? Absolutely.”
