The Buffalo Bills have just made quarterback Josh Allen a very happy man, reportedly agreeing to a trade with the Chicago Bears for talented wide receiver DJ Moore.

The reported compensation has the Bills sending a 2026 second-round pick to Chicago in return for Moore and a 2026 fifth-round selection.

While the framework of the trade is in place, the deal cannot be finalised until the new league year begins next Wednesday.

Buffalo have gone without a 1,000-yard receiver since 2023, and Moore provides the kind of weapon that could end that run.

In his eight-year career, the 28-year-old has amassed 8,213 receiving yards and 41 touchdowns, despite playing with a rotating cast of quarterbacks in Carolina and Chicago.

He will now be catching passes from former MVP Allen on a team led by new head coach Joe Brady, under whom he thrived during his time with the Panthers.

Moore's $23.5M salaries for 2026 and 2027 are fully guaranteed, with the latter set to trigger next week. His agents have confirmed the Bills will also guarantee $15.5M of his 2028 salary.

With the move, the Bears have signalled their intent to move forward with younger options such as Rome Odunze and Luther Burden.

That's not to say Bears' fans won't miss the veteran.

Moving Moore gives Chicago another draft pick to work with as they continue building toward the future.

The Bills, meanwhile, gain an instant upgrade as they continue to push for their first Super Bowl title.
