Myles Garrett ranked above Von Miller and Khalil Mack by former teammate

Shelby Harris doesn't hand out compliments easily, not by his own admission, but you wouldn't know it to hear him rave about the Rams' Myles Garrett.

Appearing on SiriusXM NFL Radio, the New York Giants defensive tackle drew on his experience playing alongside some of the best defensive players of the last decade.

His verdict was blunt: Garrett is the best of them all.

What Harris said about Garrett

"It's really a pick your poison type deal, but if you want to focus all the way on Myles, what it's going to do is, it's going to open up everybody on that Rams' front," he said.

"Look at the games where he wasn't getting double-teamed or triple-teamed. Last year against the Patriots, he had five sacks; last year against the Raiders, he had five sacks.

"This is the type of player you're getting. You're getting a guy who is an automatic game-wrecker."

Garrett was officially credited with three sacks vs. the Raiders, but after winning the Defensive Player of the Year award for the second time in three years, Harris' point still stands.

"People that know me know that I do not give compliments very often," he continued. "I've always said Myles Garrett is the best defensive player I've ever played with.

"I've played with Von Miller, I've played with Khalil Mack, I've played with dogs, right. And Myles Garrett, just for the amount of attention he gets and for him to still produce, is otherworldly. It literally doesn't make any sense."

What Garrett means for Young, Fiske and Turner

The Rams were already strong up front before Garrett arrived, and while they lost Jared Verse in the trade, they look even more dominant now.

Byron Young produced 74 pressures and 12 sacks last season, numbers that helped him to No. 87 on the peer-voted NFL Top 100.

On the interior, Kobie Turner added 69 and seven; Braden Fiske chipped in 50 and three, helping the Rams rack up 47 sacks across the 2025 campaign, tied for seventh in the league.

Hand that group a double-team magnet like Garrett, who just broke the sack record with 23, and Harris's argument writes itself. And that's before we even consider that Aaron Donald might be coming back.
