A mouthwatering matchup pitting the undefeated Philadelphia Eagles and Los Angeles Rams on Sunday, in addition to an explosive Monday Night Football affair between the Baltimore Ravens and Detroit Lions leads the action in Week 3 of the 2025 NFL season.

Plus, the week will have Patrick Mahomes in the unchartered territory of trying to lead the Kansas City Chiefs out of their 0-2 hole.

All that and more are part of DAZN News' Mark Lelinwalla's five storylines to follow for Week 3 of the NFL season.

Buffalo Bills visit Miami Dolphins in an AFC East tilt on Thursday Night Football

Josh Allen is undefeated on Thursday Night Football games with a flawless 7-0 record. Plus, the reigning MVP’s Buffalo Bills are looking like the early favorites in the AFC after an opening-week rallying win over the Baltimore Ravens.

The Bills (2-0) will look to keep the momentum going at home against their AFC East division rival Miami Dolphins (0-2) who are struggling to get going thus far.

Buffalo swept its season series with Miami last season, producing 61 points in two games.

Super Bowl champs Eagles host Rams in NFC battle of undefeated squads

The defending Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles and Los Angeles Rams have each jumped out to a 2-0 start to their 2025 campaigns.

That makes the Eagles hosting the Rams at Lincoln Financial Field in Philly on Sunday appealing but there is also retribution on the line for L.A.

If the Rams are going to avenge being eliminated by the Eagles in last season’s NFC Divisional playoffs, they will likely need a way to hinder Saquon Barkley.

The dynamic Eagles running back rushed for 205 yards and two touchdowns to send the Rams packing in that game. When the teams met in Week 12 of that regular season, Barkley also rushed for a ridiculous 255 yards.

Limiting Barkley would definitely heighten the Rams’ chances of starting the season 3-0.

Niners, Cardinals vie for early NFC West positioning

Early on, the NFC West stands as the hottest division in the NFL with three 2-0 teams.

That makes this matchup between the San Francisco 49ers and the Arizona Cardinals an intriguing watch especially over how the Cardinals will handle the dual threat that is Christian McCaffrey.

Last week, the running back rushed for 55 yards on 13 carries, while also hauling in six catches out of the backfield for 52 yards and a touchdown.

How the Cardinals deal with this complex problem will be a major key.

Trouble in Kansas City? Patrick Mahomes and Chiefs try to dig out of 0-2 hole

For the first time in his career, three-time Super Bowl MVP Patrick Mahomes has started the season 0-2 with the Kansas City Chiefs.

That being said, the fellow 0-2 New York Giants should be a welcoming sight even though the Chiefs are on the road visiting Big Blue for this Sunday Night Football matchup.

Both the Chiefs and Giants are coming off heartbreaking losses, especially the latter who allowed the Dallas Cowboys to force overtime and defeat them in the extra period.

High-powered offensive clash when Baltimore Ravens host Detroit Lions on Monday Night Football

The Baltimore Ravens (1-1) and Detroit Lions (1-1) rung up a ridiculous 93 points combined in Week 2, making their Week 3 matchup a must-see game.

The Ravens’ 41-17 stomping of the Cleveland Browns had two-time league MVP Lamar Jackson throwing for 225 yards and four touchdowns, while Jared Goff found a way to outdo him by airing it out for 334 yards and five TDs in the Detroit Lions’ thrashing of the Chicago Bears.

Which high-octane offense will notch a pivotal victory to get over the .500 level?
