Before the season began, the Patriots' strength of schedule ranked 30th. Retrospectively, they rank 31st.
They dominated the Los Angeles Chargers' offensive line in the Wild Card, but that Bolts' unit was a makeshift group, missing two star offensive tackles, and had ranked among the worst in the NFL.
Defeating the Houston Texans and their dominant defense in the Divisional Round looked good on paper, and New England certainly had their highlight moments.
But we must remember Houston QB C.J. Stroud was abysmal. Yes, the Patriots' defense forced the Texans into committing turnovers, but the Patriots offense also turned the ball over three times.
Finally, Mike Vrabel's group made tough work of a Broncos team - albeit one with a quality defense - whose offense, led by replacement quarterback Jarrett Stidham, simply wasn't up to the job.
None of this is to say that the Patriots don’t deserve credit for getting to where they have. They pulled off 10 straight wins in the regular season, finished with a perfect away record, and their run defense has peaked during the postseason.
However, the Seahawks are the more complete team. They competed and bested the most competitive division in football, boast a quarterback in Sam Darnold who has outplayed Maye in the playoffs, and the 'Dark Side' is the most complete defense in football.
