The Dallas Cowboys appeared to be poised for a run as they were unbeaten in their last two games in scoring 77 total points heading into Sunday's game at the Carolina Panthers, which you could have watched with NFL Game Pass on DAZN (excl. the US and China).
While the offense held up their end of the bargain, the defense didn't as Ryan Fitzgerald connected on a 33-yard field goal with no time remaining to give the Panthers the 30-27 win over the Cowboys.
The Cowboys lead 24-20 going into the fourth quarter. Tetairoa McMillan caught a two-yard touchdown pass from Bryce Young to give the Panthers a 27-24 lead. The Cowboys went down the field and Brandon Aubrey kicked a 28-yard field goal to even up the game.Â
The Panthers made some big plays on the final drive of the game. They had fourth and fourth on the Cowboys' 40-yard line. A stop by the Cowboys, and they would have gotten the ball.
Instead, Young completed a seven-yard pass to Hunter Renfrow to give the Panthers a first down. A couple of plays later and Fitzgerald nailed the game-winning field goal to give the Panthers back-to-back wins and even their record to 3-3.Â
Young went 17 of 25 for 199 yards with three touchdowns and one interception. Rico Dowdle, for the second week in a row, had another big game with 30 carries for 183 yards.Â
Dak Prescott went 25 of 34 for 261 yards and three touchdown passes. George Pickens was the main recipient of Prescott's passes with nine receptions for 168 yards and a touchdown.
Next week, the Panthers look to extend their win streak against the winless Jets, while the Cowboys (2-3-1)Â host NFC East rival, the Washington Commanders.
