Tiah-Mai Ayton is hoping to cap off a remarkable debut year on December 17 as she looks to move to 4-0 against Ana De Moraes at the O2 Arena’s Indigo venue in London, live on DAZN.
Ayton, who recently turned 19, has excelled in the infancy of her career, recording three stoppages from her three fights and impressing in every outing.
The Bristol star has all the potential to be a future world champion, perhaps even as soon as next year, and she has already won the praise of leading female fighters including Katie Taylor and Skye Nicolson.
Unbeaten in the amateur code too, boxing is Ayton’s strength, and even though she has tasted success in other fighting disciplines including MMA and Muay Thai, boxing is where Ayton belongs, and it appears that her journey in the sport is set to be a long and successful one.
Guided by Eddie Hearn, Ayton is hopeful that the Matchroom boss can take her to the highest level and that she can go on to be the latest female fighter that Hearn has taken to world titles.
Fully aware of her surroundings in the sport, Ayton understands how hard her chosen sport is, but she’s ready to embrace the challenges coming her way.
“I feel that being a strong female, especially in boxing, is very important,” said Ayton when featured on the latest episode of DAZN’s Spotlight series.
“Boxing is a man’s sport, but it is getting a lot more female, and everyone is appreciating it more. You always need someone to look up to, and I've always wanted younger girls to be like, ‘I want to be like her.’
“In the next year or two, hopefully I can become British champion, and hopefully there can be a world title on the line. I’ll fight anyone now.”
