Adrien Broner calls out two world champions after Bill Hutchinson win
Adrien Broner has his sights set on a world title shot after his latest win over Bill Hutchinson.
Friday night saw Broner return to the ring for the first time in over two years and while he did not produce a knockout finish against Hutchinson, there were still signs that he can challenge at world level.
Broner's speed, power and combinations were a throwback to his peak years, and during the first five rounds he landed a number of significant shots to Hutchinson's head.
The intensity decreased in the second half of the fight after Broner hurt his right hand, but he was still able to see out the fight comfortably and win via unaniminous decision.
Following his victory, Broner was quick to point out what's next and called out a number of world champions.
“Anybody with a title. Retardo [Rolly Romero], the winner of Teofimo & Josh Taylor, and whoever. All the belts,” Broner said in a post-fight interview.
If he is to challenge the likes of Romero and Taylor however, Broner will need to move down to 140lbs with his fight against Hutchinson taking place at welterweight.
