Former world champion Anthony Joshua has taken to social media to call out rival Tyson Fury, criticising the ‘Gypsy King’ whilst commending Joseph Parker and Fabio Wardley for their willingness to take risky fights.
After Parker and Wardley completed the launch press conference for their fight in October, live on DAZN, Joshua took to his Instagram to laud both fighters - and sprinkle in a few jabs at Fury.
Joshua posted on his Instagram story: “(I can’t lie) I’m proud of Joe Parker, even though he is a competitor. Real recognises real. He’s in the game to fight whoever, whenever, and that’s the DNA of a real general.
“Unlike his dippy mate Tyson Fury. I would dissect his career/record in minutes but I’ll leave that for a potential gloves are off if he ever comes back and fights Big Femi.”
A desired fight for the British public for many years, ex-world title holders Fury and Joshua are still yet to share a ring, despite nearly a decade of snipes and comments in the media.
Fanfare earlier in 2025 suggested that Fury would end his latest retirement to face Joshua, but the ‘Gypsy King’ has confused fans with his messaging. Despite reiterating that he is retired, he also claims that he will fight Oleksandr Usyk in April next year, a bout that has not been confirmed by any other party.
Joshua, meanwhile, is still recovering from elbow surgery underwent in the summer. Plans of a comeback before the end of 2025 appear to have been scuppered, but Joshua now appears to be targeting a fight with Fury once more.
His post continued: “Fabio Wardley, respect to you as well. Bro was working in recruitment, helping your dad get a job a (couple of) years ago.
“Let that be a testament to God rooting in one’s favour and a statement to show, nothing is impossible - if you can have a scrap!
“To my supporters, I’ll be back to lace up my boots and put on my gloves sooner than later, hopefully punching Fury’s head in and dancing around flicker jab with ease.”
