Anthony Joshua admits he has considered swapping boxing for MMA amid the glut of major contenders coming the other way.
The two-time heavyweight world champion was ringside last month for Rico Verhoeven's narrow loss against Oleksandr Usyk.
Joshua has form with crossover opponents, having previously put Francis Ngannou out inside two brutal rounds on his terms.
But now, the Briton has floated the idea of trying his hand at MMA or kickboxing, acknowledging it is something he is curious about.
"I was thinking, why don't I step over into one of their territories?" Joshua told the Mr. Verzace podcast on a potential career swap.
"They keep on coming over into our territory. This is big business. It's heavyweight boxing. You're talking about the best in their field.
"MMA, kickboxing, these aren't amateurs. These are experienced fighters. But it would be good if one of us went into that side.
"It can be done. I was thinking about it. It'll be interesting to see who the [next] one will be to cross over into their territory.”
There's no shortage of mixed martial artists and kickboxers who are happy to chase a chance in boxing, that's for certain.
But Anthony Joshua's intrigue at changing fight codes raises the question over whether the star could learn new skills.
There are a lot more tricks to the arsenal of a star in another discipline, more than just the fists and footwork between the ropes.
As one of the leading heavyweights of his era, Joshua undoubtedly packs plenty of talent into his punches, make no mistake.
Yet having already named a hit-list of major fights he still wants in the ring, perhaps this is something the star will likely park.
