Anthony Joshua has not been in action since being destroyed in a devastating fifth-round KO at the hands of Daniel Dubois at Wembley Stadium in London, England in September.

But while in attendance at ANB Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia for Canelo Alvarez vs. William Scull on Saturday night, Joshua gave DAZN's Claudia Trejos a major update on his health.

"I'm trying to get my body right," Joshua began telling Trejos.

He then revealed that he is going to have a "little surgery on my elbow, a small surgery, sometime in May."

The former two-time unified heavyweight world champion added that the surgery will keep him out of the gym for six to eight weeks, before he is able to return to the gym and rebuild the next stage of his career.

Joshua had been on a three-fight winning streak before falling victim to the buzzsaw that was Dubois last fall.
