Beterbiev improves to 20-0 with all his wins by stoppage.

After a brief postponement due to an injury, the Artur Beterbiev vs. Callum Smith fight finally took place.

On Saturday,  Beterbiev retained his light heavyweight titles and unbeaten record after stopping Smith at 2:00 of Round 7.

Beterbiev became the first man to drop Smith when in Round 7, his pressure was too much and Smith came crashing down to the canvas twice.

"It's because of luck," he said after the win. He said he also credits his coaches for preparing him for the fight.

After the victory, Beterbiev called out Dmitry Bivol, the WBA light heavyweight titleholder.

"Yes, of course, I need another fourth belt," he said when asked if that's who he wants next.

Bob Arum says the fight is not done, but it's the bout they want. He says they'll aim to have the fight three months after Ramadan ends.

This is the second loss of Smith's career as he failed to defeat Canelo Alvarez as well.

The fight was originally scheduled for August 2023 but was rescheduled after Beterbiev needed jaw surgery due to a bone infection.

Beterbiev keeps his WBC/WBO/IBF light heavyweight titles.
