Artur Beterbiev vs David Benavidez - Former world champion and Reality TV star makes big prediction for potential clash

David Benavidez will be watching closely when Dmitry Bivol and Artur Beterbiev clash for a second time later this month

On February 22, live on DAZN, Beterbiev will be aiming to make it 2-0 against Bivol as they clash in an eagerly anticipated rematch just four months on from their first epic encounter.

Last October, Beterbiev won all four world titles at 175lbs as his relentless pressure was preferred by the judges despite the end result causing some small outrage.

The closeness of the contest means the sequel has once again split the boxing community, and it is Beterbiev who goes in as a small favourite.

Benavidez is eager to taste world title glory at light-heavyweight and he increased his chances of doing that earlier this month when he defeated David Morrell in Las Vegas

The Arizona fighter had been expected to receive a stern test from the Cuban and although he had to climb off the canvas to win, he was the better fighter throughout the contest.

Benavidez is now aiming at adding more honours to his list of prizes and that could be a 2025 showdown with either Beterbiev or Bivol.

Sergio Mora, a former world champion, has had his say on the potential clash and he has given his backing to Beterbiev if the meeting ever takes place.

“I’ll favour Beterbiev in that fight, even as a 40-year-old. If Benavidez is the ‘Mexican Monster,’ what is a bigger monster? King Kong?. That’s Beterbiev. He’s a killer,” said Mora when speaking on Chris Mannix’s YouTube channel

“This is like the Lochness Monster, Sasquatch, beast or bear. Whatever Beterbiev is out, that’s a killer, and I would favor him over Benavidez.”
