DAZN News rounds-up the biggest boxing stories on Wednesday, March 4.
Welterweights Conah Walker and Sam Eggington are set to meet in what could be a thrilling affair on May 2.
As reported by Boxing Scene, a deal has been reached for a fight which will take place in Wolverhampton.
With both Walker and Eggington hailing from the West Midlands, it will be some atmosphere in the Black Country.
Walker's last fight in December saw him produce a brutal final round knockout against Pat McCormack in Monaco.
Ring Magazine cruiserweight champion Jai Opetaia is under increasing pressure to make a decision about his status as the IBF's titleholder.
Opetaia is set to fight on Sunday in his first outing since signing with Dana White's Zuffa Boxing with the organisation's own cruiserweight world title belt up for grabs against Brandon Glanton.
However, if Opetaia does compete for Zuffa's new prize, then he will not be able to defend his IBF belt and could be stripped.
As reported by ESPN's Salvador Rodriguez, the IBF have asked for Opetaia to clarify which world championship he will be fighting for with the sanctioning body stating he cannot defend the sanctioning body's belt whilst also challenging for the new Zuffa Boxing cruiserweight world title.
Anticipation is building ahead of the WBO heavyweight title fight between Fabio Wardley and Daniel Dubois.
The bout, which takes place on May 9, exclusively live on DAZN, sees two fighters go head-to-head in a contest which should end by knockout.
One man with a keen eye on this contest is Lawrence Okolie who made his prediction for the all-British showdown.
“I think Dubois is going to win because he’s got a lot more experience and he’s beaten better guys,” Okolie told Sky Sports.
“I think that, stylistically, if they do start trading – unless Fabio is that much quicker than him – [Dubois] definitely punches harder than him and will hurt him."
Okolie will be hoping he could secure a date with either Wardley or Dubois in the future, but he first must beat Tony Yoka when the pair meet in Paris on April 25.
