Canelo Alvarez on whether he and Ryan Garcia can ever be on good terms again

For a brief period of time, Canelo Alvarez and Ryan Garcia were stablemates trained by Eddy Reynoso.

But Garcia parted ways with Reynoso and made Joe Goosen his trainer ahead of the Gervonta Davis fight in April. And after losing the fight by seventh-round knockout, "King Ry" once again changed trainers, tabbing Derrick James to steer his career forward.

All that being said, did Garcia's departure from Reynoso, Canelo's longtime trainer, damage his friendship with the boxing superstar beyond repair?

Not necessarily.

When asked by "The Breakfast Club" if he and Garcia could ever get back on good terms, Canelo responded:

"Yeah, why not? I have nothing (no problems) with Ryan.

"A little things got out of control but he's young and sometimes you think it's good what you say but I know it's not. But no. It's fine."

Perhaps that could be the opening needed for the two to talk, mend any lingering issues and move on.

Could boxing fans see Garcia by Canelo's side?
