Eubank Jr. vs Benn 2 - only on DAZN PPV - Saturday

Conor Benn has a score to settle in his big rematch with Chris Eubank Jr. at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday.

The pair put on a thriller at the same venue in April when Eubank Jr. emerged with a unanimous decision victory as all three judges scored it 116-112 in his favour.

While most people thought the right man won, there were several close rounds as they went toe-to-toe in an instant classic and the rematch this weekend has been highly anticipated.

Benn entered the first fight as a big underdog and although he didn’t quite pull off the upset, he emerged with lots of credit as he exceeded all expectations with a valiant effort in defeat.

However, if he is to level the score with his bitter rival, then he needs to make some adjustments and we take a look at some of the ways he could improve in the return bout live on DAZN PPV.

Could Benn improve with the first fight under his belt?

Conor Benn was having his first outing for just under 14 months when he met Chris Eubank Jr. in April.

While he said ring rust would not be an issue before the contest, he admitted afterwards that it may have played a part in the result and that not fighting for over a year wasn’t the ideal preparation.

Now, with those 12 rounds behind him, could we see a better version of Benn in the rematch?

Benn needs to pace himself better

Unsurprisingly, Benn came out swinging as the fiery underdog looked to turn the heat up on his bigger opponent from the first bell.

He did have plenty of success and more than played his part in a gripping contest, but he was clearly the more tired of the two in the last couple of rounds as Eubank Jr. closed the show in impressive fashion.

Benn now knows what a gruelling 12 rounds with Eubank Jr. in front of a huge crowd entails and he could use that experience to pace himself a little better the second time around.

Could Benn be better suited to the weight this time?

Having his first middleweight in April, Benn may have had the speed advantage but it was noticeable that Eubank Jr. was the stronger man in the ring.

We know he is going to be the smaller man again but the subsequent seven months could have allowed Benn to grow into the weight a little better now.

If that is the case, then he could do more damage as he already proved in the first fight that he can hurt Eubank Jr.

Using the jab will put Benn in a strong position

As impressive as his effort in defeat was, Benn often found himself starting his attacks from too far out.

It was Eubank Jr. who used his jab much more effectively and frequently, and that allowed him to control the fight at times.

If Benn can bring his jab into play more, then he could use it to get himself into range better before unleashing the heavy artillery.
