Deontay Wilder will look to bring his losing streak to an end on Friday night when he goes head-to-head with Tyrrell Herndon at the Charles Koch Arena in Kansas.

After failing to beat former WBO heavyweight champion Joseph Parker in 2023, Wilder was then made the team captain for Matchroom in the first ever 5v5 event with Queensberry Promotions in Riyadh on June 1 the following year.

Representing Queensberry would be the hard-hitting Zhilei Zhang and Wilder was looking to salvage some pride for Eddie Hearn whose fighters had lost the four previous bouts.

A Wilder-Zhang matchup generated huge excitement amongst fight fans with the punching power that would be on show, and in the end it was Zhang who overpowered 'The Bronze Bomber'.

In round five, a Zhang right hook stunned Wilder before the Chinese fighter landed another perfect right hand to finish off the former WBC heavyweight champion.

Many thought this loss brought the curtain down on Wilder's boxing career, but he will instead attempt to revive it against Herndon on June 27.
