Errol Spence Jr. set to end three-year absence with Tim Tszyu comeback bout

Errol Spence Jr. is set to end a three-year hiatus from the ring with a light-middleweight debut against Tim Tszyu, according to reports.

'The Truth', a former unified welterweight champion, has not fought since his first professional loss against Terence Crawford in 2023.

Now, however, the star is tipped to make his return with seven extra pounds against Tszyu, who previously held the division's WBO belt.

The Ring reported that Spence, whose 28-1 record saw him earn pound-for-pound recognition, could take his return back to Dallas.

The Long Island native turned AT&T Stadium, home of the Dallas Cowboys, into a fortress with three major wins between 2019 and 2022.

Alternatively, the bout could head to Tszyu's native Australia, as the Sydney fighter attempts to climb back towards the summit himself.

The latter is expected to take a tune-up on home soil next month, possibly in tandem with countryman Liam Paro's IBF welterweight title bid.

The onetime IBF light-welterweight champion's promoters No Limit won the purse bid to bring the Northern Irishman down under last week.

News that Errol Spence Jr. is poised to bring his exodus from the canvas to a close is more than just a bit of run-of-the-mill boxing news.

One of the most reliable draws of his generation, the former welterweight favourite scored some massive wins during his pro heyday.

Kell Brook, Lamont Peterson, Mikey Garcia, Shawn Porter - they all came unstuck against the New Yorker and his mean combinations.

A clash with a few extra pounds could promise some more fireworks too, especially against the combustible Tszyu in a shrewd match-up.

Arguably, an Australian crowd would be even better to feed off this - but wherever it ends up, this could be a comeback cracker to love.
