Errol Spence Jr. says Terence Crawford fight is 'definitely happening this year'DAZN
Boxing fans have been wanting to see Errol Spence Jr. and Terence Crawford settle their score in the ring to determine who's the top dog at welterweight. If one side is to be believed, the people could be getting what they have been looking for.

During the broadcast of the Mark Magsayo-Rey Vargas WBC featherweight title bout, Spence told Showtime's Jim Grey that he feels the fight will occur in 2022.

"I think it’s gonna happen. He wants the fight. I want the fight," Spence told Grey.

"I don't know where, and I don't know when, but it's definitely happening this year."

Spence last fought in April when he stopped Yordenis Ugas in the tenth round to win the WBA (super) title and retain his IBF and WBC titles. Crawford last fought in November when he finished Shawn Porter in the tenth round to hold onto the WBO belt.

"I'm free to do whatever I want," Crawford told ESPN in April. "There's nothing standing in the way from us fighting. There's no promotion company that's blocking it. There's no wrong side of the street. There's no nothing. Let's see who the best welterweight in the world is."
