Fabio Wardley can inch himself closer to a crack at the Oleksandr Usyk-Daniel Dubois rematch winner with a homecoming victory this weekend.

The undefeated heavyweight takes on unbeaten Australian fighter Justis Huni at Portman Road in Ipswich, United Kingdom, and live on DAZN , on Saturday night for the WBA interim heavyweight title.

Wardley (18-0-1, 17 knockouts) is coming off an emphatic first-round TKO win in his rematch with Frazer Clarke this past October.

He will be clashing with Huni (12-0, 7 KOs), who last produced a second-round TKO of Shaun Potgieter in January.

With so much on the line, DAZN News analyzes who has the edge between the two fighters entering this mega heavyweight bout.

Boxing Styles

During DAZN’s Face Off, Fabio Wardley gave his own breakdown of Justis Huni’s boxing style.

“Good feet, good hands, quick, puts his punches together well, could get in and out of range,” Wardley said of his opponent.

The same segment had Huni vowing he is better in every facet of boxing than Wardley.

That said, his style meshing with a banger like Wardley’s could lead to explosive results for either man.

In an interesting blend of boxing, Wardley’s aggression and fight-forward style gets the slight edge here.

Power

Want an example of Wardley’s explosive power punching?

Take a look at how he dismantled Frazer Clarke in their rematch this past fall.

Having battled to a split draw seven months prior, Wardley swiftly used a range-finding left jab to set up a vicious, thumping overhand right.

A few pounding body shots and another measured overhand right later dropped Clarke in a heap — and it took Wardley 2:28 into the fight to accomplish.

The power display, which is indicative of 17 of his 18 victories coming by the way of knockout, proves just how potent of a puncher Wardley is.

Huni, too, has power with seven knockouts in 12 fights.

But Wardley’s punching power is nightmarish when landing flush.

Mental Warfare

With this fight, Wardley has the apt setup in his backyard with the chance to claim the interim WBA title and lock in a fight against the winner of the upcoming Usyk-Dubois rematch.

Now, it is about capitalizing and using Saturday night’s stage as the platform to make another eye-opening statement.

The urgency sides with him, but there is also pressure that comes from that.

Wardley will either meet that pressure and make a diamond out of it or Huni will make sure that pressure busts its pipe in the form of an upset.

Again, a slight nod goes to Wardley who reminded Huni during their Face Off segment that he only has to be great for one second to pounce and end the Australian’s night early.

Who has the edge in Wardley vs Huni?

Entering this bout, Wardley is knocking on attaining heavyweight star status.

Simply put: Back-to-back knockout victories for Wardley will blast down the door to heavyweight boxing superstardom and bring the British fighter one step closer to realizing his full potential.

It is part of the reason DAZN News has it 3-0 for Wardley, who has well more than a puncher's chance.
