Ricky Hatton has backed Fabio Wardley to continue riding “a crest of a wave” by beating Australian champ Justis Huni for the WBA interim world title on Saturday live on DAZN .
Unbeaten heavyweight Wardley (18-0-1, 17KO), squares off with Huni (12-0, 7KO) in what is the first boxing event ever held at Portman Road, the home of Wardley’s beloved Ipswich Town.
The star has built momentum and his last fight, a one-round destruction of Frazer Clarke , has some within the industry tipping him as a future world heavyweight champion.
In an exclusive interview with DAZN News , British boxing legend Hatton said: “I think Fabio wins this one.
“He’s on the crest of a wave and had a great win against Frazer Clarke.

“His confidence is up and he’s always had the potential. He had a couple of stuttering fights when I wasn’t too sure about him.
“But he’s proven to be the real deal and I think he will take the win at Portman Road on Friday.”
Wardley is set to be backed by a bumper home crowd at Ipswich’s famous stadium.
