Heavyweight contender wants to knock out Zhilei Zhang in ChinaDAZN
A highly ranked heavyweight is ready to settle the score with the Chinese fighter.

Zhilei Zhang is one of the most feared fighters in the heavyweight division and rightly so.

This year, the Chinese star has stopped the supposedly unstoppable Joe Joyce in impressive fashion and is now the mandatory challenger to Oleksandr Usyk's WBO world heavyweight title.

However, with all the major names at heavyweight pre-occupied with fights of their own, it may prove difficult for Zhang to keep active against credible opposition while he waits for his world title shot.

Now there is one past opponent of Zhang's who is willing to go toe-to-toe once more, Croatia's Filip Hrgovic.

Hrgovic is also a mandatory challenger for Usyk, this time for his IBF title, but he too is biding his time and now he has expressed an interest in facing Zhang for a second time in China.

“What about that? I’ll come to Beijing, I’ll beat him in front of one billion Chinese people," Hrgovic told iFL TV

"I’m a f—g animal man. Look, I swear with my father’s name, and my father passed away, I swear with my father’s name I will go to China and knock him out.

"On my worst night, I beat that guy. On my best night, he’s not going six rounds.”

Zhang and Hrgovic first met in Saudi Arabia last year with Hrgovic being declared the winner via a close unanimous decision, and inflicting the first defeat of Zhang's professional career, but this is a result which was subject to debate amongst fans with some feeling that the Chinese fighter had done enough to get the win.
