Japan’s Naoya Inoue successfully defended his undisputed super-bantamweight titles today after emphatically beating former unified champion Murodjon Akhmadaliev by unanimous decision.
At IG Arena in Nagoya, Inoue retained his crowns after the judges scored the bout 117-111, 118-110, and 118-110 in his favour.
The victory saw ‘The Monster’ extend his perfect professional record to 31-0 with 27 knockouts and could now lead to a showdown with unbeaten Mexican David Picasso.
After the win, the 32-year-old Inoue confirmed he will fight again in December in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, with a date of December 27 touted for a bout with Picasso.
Akhmadaliev was a distinct second-best to Inoue , who was in fine form the first bell in a southpaw-orthodox battle.

The powerful challenger from Uzbekistan could not match the quality of Inoue, who made his class pay in some style to run out a worthy victor.
On the undercard, Christian Medina knocked out Yoshiki Takei to claim the WBO bantamweight world title.
