Dave Allen knows what it takes to step into the ring with Dillian Whyte after once falling short against his domestic rival.
In 2016, when rebuilding after a loss to Anthony Joshua, Whyte took on Allen when they clashed in Leeds for a minor WBC belt.
Whyte was victorious on the scorecards as he marched towards a world title shot many years later, but now he is at a different stage in his career.
The heavy-handed prospect, still only 20 years of age, has blitzed his way through the rankings in since turning professional and he is on the verge of challenging for a world title.
After disposing of respected contenders such as Demsey McKean and Mike Balogun, Itauma will now go in with Whyte as he looks to do a better job than what Joshua and Tyson Fury, who both stopped Whyte, could manage.
Allen, who is also pursuing a big fight after stopping Johnny Fisher in May, believes it could be an easy night’s work for Itauma.
“My early prediction would be an Itauma stoppage, in a couple of rounds as well. It’s all about the timing. Even the best Dillian Whyte would be a hard ask [for him] because Itauma is a real scary talent,” said Allen when speaking on his own YouTube channel.
“They’re getting Whyte at the right time, he’s 37, not been in the ring for a long time. So I think Itauma will stop him pretty early.”
